Head Chef

The Head Chef responsibilities vary depending on the size of the property and brigade responsible for.  As the Head Chef of any kitchen you are responsible for maintaining standards of all food leaving the kitchen and growing your team according to business and level of cuisine.

The Head Chef is a key member of staff with in the Hospitality Industry and is instrumental in the building of the brigade and reputation of the property. The Head Chef is the link between the front of house and the kitchen liaising with other heads of departments and informing the brigade of any changes to procedure or management.

The Head Chef must have sound knowledge of every department and section of the kitchen and able to delegate to the brigade what is expected of them and keep on top of standards being produced from the kitchen team.

The Head Chef salary is dependant on the size of the property and Awards won by the brigade. Circa £28,000 to £40,000 per annum.
