Stafffinders is recruiting on behalf of one of South Lanarkshire’s most experienced and fast expanding restaurants. We are looking for a strong and enthusiastic Senior Sous Chef that leads from the front.
The Job
With many years’ experience and using fresh ingredients to create simple, vibrant Italian food for this well established and busy restaurant, the ideal Chef should have at least 3 years’ experience within a busy restaurant environment. Specialising in delivering fresh Italian cuisine using local seasonal ingredients to deliver an authentic Italian dining experience in a bustling bistro atmosphere.
As Senior Sous Chef you will report directly to the Head Chef to manage daily kitchen activities, taking lead in the Head Chef’s absence, including overseeing staff, aiding with menu preparation, ensuring consistent food quality and freshness.
Duties

Providing guidance to junior kitchen staff members, including, but not limited to line cooking, food preparation and dish plating
Ensuring a first-in-first-out food rotation system and verifying all food products are properly dated and organised for quality assurance
Training new kitchen employees to the restaurant and kitchen standards required
Managing food and product ordering by keeping detailed records and minimise waste, plus working with existing systems to improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns
Follow company reporting procedures
Supervising all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and restaurant standards are met
Working with Head Chef to maintain kitchen organisation and staff ability
Verifying that food storage units all meet standards and are consistently well-managed
Coordinating with the restaurant management team on supply orders, budget, kitchen efficiency and staffing
Maintaining kitchen cleanliness and cleaning records whilst managing health and hygiene procedures

About You
You are an energetic, confident and passionate individual who can deliver speed, accuracy and leadership in a fast-paced environment. You have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
