The Forth Floor Restaurant at Harvey Nichols Edinburgh

The Forth Floor Restaurant offers the ultimate dining experience and the standard of food matched the exceptional panoramic views over the city at night. A wonderful smoked haddock chowder was the starter of choice and it certainly did not disappoint. With a delightful consistency and good sized chunks of haddock this was a mouth watering dish.

Award winning Executive Chef, Stuart Muir uses the finest Scottish produce to create dishes that match modern flavours with traditional technique. Mains were fabulous:- roast loin of pork with ginger bread Melba and cinnamon apple puree was memorable.  Desserts were tempting but alas having enjoyed a hearty starter were just too much. However once again the choice was good with Saffron poached pears with honey cream and lemon sweet pastry being the most mouth watering.

The ambience is city chic with most diners arriving after work and meeting up with groups of friends etc. The service was attentive and speedy with no untimely delays between courses.  The experience was memorable and thoroughly enjoyable and the spectacular shopping of Harvey Nichols makes the experience ever so slightly decadent. When visiting Edinburgh this experience should not be missed particularly at night where the views over the city are superb.

    Another great restaurant with fantastic views is 'The Pompadour' in The Caledonian Hilton. Excellent food with wonderful views of Edinburgh Castle. Worth a visit.
