Hotel Du Vin, Edinburgh

Based in Edinburgh city centre this restaurant was very handy, with gorgeous French style décor which was homely and modern with candles on each table.

We had 4 different waiters tending to our table, therefore, the service was very mixed and did cause some confusion during the evening.

The Chicken liver pate starter was beautifully presented and a very generous portion, the toasted bread was amazing, so fresh and light. The main course of Rack of Lamb was cooked beautifully and well presented but 3 ribs at £24 I feel there wasn’t enough meat for the money!  The Beef with different sauces and chips was simply perfect.

Dessert choices were very plain, the Jam sponge and custard was dry with only a small amount of custard and the Crème brulee was a bit like sticky cold custard.
